In-Depth Analysis: Monitoring Concepts and Tools

  • Hardware Monitoring (Windows - Perfmon, UNIX - nmon, vmstat)
    • Run queue (Average processor queue length)
    • Network Input/Output (IO)
    • Disk Input/Output (IO)
    • Memory metrics (Available, Used, Paging space, File System Cache, etc.)
    • CPU metrics (Available, virtual, online, entitled, etc.)
  • Web Server and Application Server Monitoring
