Course Outline

Module 1: Overview & Architecture

Explore the Dynamics 365 ecosystem and its major components, understand the architecture of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (FO), and examine relevant design and deployment considerations for D365FO.

Module 2: Developer Tools

Manage system implementations using Lifecycle Services, customize D365FO with Visual Studio, manage source code and artifacts via version control, and utilise other development tools to complete tasks effectively.

Module 3: Solution Design

Determine the necessary application stack components and server architecture, implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and design robust solutions for D365FO.

Module 4: AOT Elements

Create forms, develop and extend tables, build Extended Data Types (EDT) and enumerations, and create classes while extending existing AOT elements.

Module 5: Code Development & Testing

Develop X++ code and object-oriented code, extend D365 FO functionality, understand the test framework and tools, and perform Unit Testing.

Module 6: Data Migration

Explore migration tools and methodologies, plan a migration strategy, prepare data for migration, and execute data transfer. Includes lab exercises on Data Export/Import using Data Entities.

Module 7: Frameworks

Implement functionality within the D365 FO framework.

Module 8: Integration

Identify data integration patterns and scenarios, implement data integration concepts and solutions, set up recurring integrations, connect D365FO with Microsoft Azure, troubleshoot integration errors, and implement the Data Management Package API.

Module 9: Reporting

Analyze the capabilities and limitations of reporting tools in D365FO, design/create/revise Dynamics Reports, design/create/revise Dynamics workspaces, and establish data sources that connect to external data stores outside of D365FO.

Module 10: Security & Performance

Describe and implement performance tools and LCS Environment Monitoring tools, enforce role-based security policies and requirements, apply fundamental performance optimization techniques, optimize batch process performance, enhance user interface performance, improve integration performance, and optimize report performance. Includes lab exercises on Async & Sandbox Functionality.
