Course Outline
Module 1: Overview & Architecture
Gain an understanding of the Dynamics 365 ecosystem and the key components of the Finance and Operations (FO) software. This module covers the D365FO architecture, along with essential design and deployment considerations.
Module 2: Developer Tools
Learn to manage system implementations through Lifecycle Services and customize D365FO using Visual Studio. Additionally, you will explore how to manage source code and artifacts via version control and utilize other development tools to complete technical tasks.
Module 3: Solution Design
Identify the necessary application stack components and server architecture, implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and design tailored solutions for D365FO.
Module 4: AOT Elements
Develop skills in creating forms, building and extending tables, and defining Extended Data Types (EDT) and enumerations. You will also learn to create classes and extend existing AOT elements.
Module 5: Code Development & Testing
Focus on developing X++ and object-oriented code, as well as extending D365 FO functionality. The module also covers the testing framework, including how to perform Unit Testing.
Module 6: Data Migration
Understand migration tools and methodologies to plan an effective migration strategy. You will learn to prepare data for transfer and execute data export/import processes using Data Entities.
Module 7: Frameworks
Explore methods to implement core D365 FO functionality within established frameworks.
Module 8: Integration
Identify data integration patterns and scenarios, and implement robust integration concepts and solutions. This includes setting up recurring integrations, connecting D365FO with Microsoft Azure, troubleshooting errors, and utilizing the Data Management Package API.
Module 9: Reporting
Examine the capabilities and limitations of reporting tools in D365FO. You will learn to design, create, and refine Dynamics Reports and workspaces, as well as manage data sources that connect to external data stores.
Module 10: Security & Performance
Master the use of performance tools and LCS Environment Monitoring tools. This module focuses on implementing role-based security policies and applying fundamental optimization techniques for batch processes, user interfaces, integrations, and reports, including async and sandbox functionality.
